Ministry Opportunities
In Italy, the team will support the work of Pastor Frank Maietta in Grosseto and other cities throughout Tuscany. There, the team will work alongside Italian church members to evangelize northern Italy through literature distribution and street singing in several cities. Pastor Maietta will also host a one-day tour of Rome.
Music Ministry
The purpose is to offer evangelistic concerts in Barcelona and nearby cities, as well as in Marseille and Tuscany. In 2025, we did a similar mission trip with great success. Music is a powerful evangelistic tool to share the Gospel with European audiences.
Our team will visit St. Gaudens to have an evangelistic concert there working with Pastor Price and his church.
Children's Club
Much like a VBS in the United States, we will have the opportunity to work with the children of the church and community. We will learn a few songs to teach the children. Despite the language barrier, we are able to assist Dave with crafts, games, and even Scripture memory.
Literature Distribution
We will take advantage of the route of the Tour de France. People gather from all over Europe to see the race go through the various towns, providing an excellent opportunity to get the gospel in the hands of thousands. Since the route changes a little each year, we are able to get this information to new people each summer.
Camp Ebenezer
Hebron Valley Baptist Church organizes several annual camps throughout the year for families and young people.
We also hold the "Intensive Bible Institute at Eben-Ezer," which meets quarterly for intensive studies in the Word of God.
Church Ministries
We will be encouraging the church by coming alongside the Valcarcels, Prices, and Maietta and the church members to help in their existing ministries.

Miss Becca Elliott
Becca Elliot joined the 2026 YOM Italy team as a student and saw the Lord work mightily. During that same trip, she began praying for the opportunity to return to the field. She is experienced in missions work and is enthusiastic about serving the Lord in Italy. This year, she will join the team as a leader, following God’s call to missions.

The Italy Team will serve alongside Frank and Jennifer Maietta in Grosseto and Naples.
Frank & Jennifer Maietta
Grosetto, Italy
Frank and Jennifer Maietta established the Chiesa Biblica Battista di Grosseto in May 2008. Since then, they have focused on developing the church through ongoing evangelism, organizing various ministries, and training leaders.
During their time ministering in Italy, they have seen the field grow tremendously, and many Italians turn towards Christ. Recently, they hosted a new missionary couple for two years, supporting them in establishing a new church in Pisa, which is about 100 miles north of Grosseto.
the land
Italy is a unitary parliamentary republic in South-Central Europe, located primarily upon the Italian Peninsula. It is where Ancient Rome originated as a small agricultural community about the 8th century BC, which spread over the course of centuries into the colossal Roman empire, encompassing the whole Mediterranean Basin and spreading Roman culture and civilization across the empire. This civilization was so influential that parts of it survive in modern law, administration, philosophy, and arts, providing the groundwork that the Western world is based upon.
the people
Roughly 80% of Italians identify as religious; 77% claim Catholicism. There are also several religious minorities in the country including Protestants, Jews, and Jehovah's Witnesses. Less than 4% of Italians identify as Muslims or some other non-Christian faith. The remaining 20% are largely unaffiliated with any religion.
the missions work
In Italy, the team will work with missionaries Frank and Jennifer Maietta to help distribute literature and invitations to the church in surrounding cities. One of the outreach opportunities will be through English Immersion workshops in the evenings.
Field
Italy’s rich history and cultural influence have shaped the country for centuries. Today, opportunities remain to support missionaries and local churches through evangelism, literature distribution, and community outreach.
History
In 2010, Dr. and Mrs. Pierre Willems led the first mission team to Saint Guadens, France. For two years, they helped in the ministries of Tim and Elizabeth Knickerbocker and Dave and Melissa Price. In 2016, Abran Miller and Autumn Pearson returned with a team to help with church construction and literature distribution. For the last three years, a team has returned to help the ministry in Saint Gaudens in various ways.
highlights from past trips
2010—Dr. and Mrs. Pierre Willems led the first team to Saint Gaudens. They passed out literature, sang in the town squares and at a church concert, and helped around Camp Arc-En-Ciel. Dr. Willems also gave a lecture on creation.
2016—We helped replace the church roof and passed out literature at the Tour de France.
2017—We helped replace the stucco on the outside of the church building and passed out literature at the Tour de France.
2018—We helped replace the flooring in the church area, paint the church apartment, and lead a children’s club. We also passed out literature at the Tour de France.
