Ministry Opportunities
The Philippines (Mindoro) team will run sports and medical clinics in both urban and rural jungle settings. While the medical need is great, the deeper need is Christ. Team members will have the opportunity to work alongside veteran missionaries Tom and Jen Behman and take part in all facets of the trip. Athletes will help run sports clinics, nursing majors will see medical patients up to four times, and the team will assist with Sunday services, Bible studies, children’s ministries, and even fishing ministries. With a wide variety of experiences, team members will need to remain flexible throughout the trip. This trip provides hands-on experience in reaching people with the gospel by using the gifts God has given them, with skills that can be carried into future ministry and throughout life.
Music Ministry
The purpose is to offer evangelistic concerts in Barcelona and nearby cities, as well as in Marseille and Tuscany. In 2025, we did a similar mission trip with great success. Music is a powerful evangelistic tool to share the Gospel with European audiences.
Our team will visit St. Gaudens to have an evangelistic concert there working with Pastor Price and his church.
Children's Club
Much like a VBS in the United States, we will have the opportunity to work with the children of the church and community. We will learn a few songs to teach the children. Despite the language barrier, we are able to assist Dave with crafts, games, and even Scripture memory.
Literature Distribution
We will take advantage of the route of the Tour de France. People gather from all over Europe to see the race go through the various towns, providing an excellent opportunity to get the gospel in the hands of thousands. Since the route changes a little each year, we are able to get this information to new people each summer.
Camp Ebenezer
Hebron Valley Baptist Church organizes several annual camps throughout the year for families and young people.
We also hold the "Intensive Bible Institute at Eben-Ezer," which meets quarterly for intensive studies in the Word of God.
Church Ministries
We will be encouraging the church by coming alongside the Valcarcels, Prices, and Maietta and the church members to help in their existing ministries.

hosts
The Behman family will serve as the host missionaries for this trip, providing opportunities to serve alongside them in their ministry to the people of the island of Mindoro.
Tom and Jen Behman
Sabang, Mindoro
The Behman family serves as missionaries to the Philippines. Tom and his wife, Jen, were both raised in Christian homes and saved at an early age. They met at Pensacola Christian College and were married shortly after graduating in 2009. God has blessed them with three daughters—Lucy, Aleena, and Ellie. Since 2011, the Behmans have taken multiple missions trips to the Philippines, and it was through these trips that God called them to serve as full-time church-planting missionaries in the Philippines.
the land
Mindoro is a diverse, tropical island south of Manila, featuring mountainous and jungle regions and a warm, humid climate. The island is home to both rural communities and local tribes who live throughout the mountains and jungles.
the people
The Filipino people are known for being welcoming, hospitable, generous, and kind. Their laid-back culture makes it easy to build relationships, and visitors are often welcomed warmly into their communities and homes. Rice, chicken, seafood, and fresh tropical fruits such as mangoes and bananas are common parts of the local diet.
the missions work
Throughout the trip, the team will visit mountain and jungle tribes, many of whom have significant medical needs, while seeking opportunities to share the gospel and see lives changed.
History
The first YOM Mindoro, Philippines trip took place in 2026 and was an incredible success, with many people reached with the gospel and the lives of both Filipinos and YOM team members impacted. Highlights included people coming to Christ, a three-day basketball tournament, two medical clinics, a morning fishing ministry with children from the church, a volleyball clinic, and ministry with two jungle tribes. Building on this foundation, the goal is to make the next trip an even greater opportunity to serve and share the gospel.
highlights from past trips
2010—Dr. and Mrs. Pierre Willems led the first team to Saint Gaudens. They passed out literature, sang in the town squares and at a church concert, and helped around Camp Arc-En-Ciel. Dr. Willems also gave a lecture on creation.
2016—We helped replace the church roof and passed out literature at the Tour de France.
2017—We helped replace the stucco on the outside of the church building and passed out literature at the Tour de France.
2018—We helped replace the flooring in the church area, paint the church apartment, and lead a children’s club. We also passed out literature at the Tour de France.
